🏦 Using ACH Transfers With Fintech Accounts (Chime, Cash App, Venmo, and More)

Many customers use fintech apps like Chime, Cash App, Venmo, Varo, and Current for payments.
These apps often provide a routing number and account number so you can make ACH transfers,
but not all fintechs handle ACH the same way.

⚙️ How ACH Works With Fintech Accounts

Most fintechs partner with traditional banks behind the scenes. When you use the routing and account number provided by your app, you’re really sending the ACH to the partner bank that holds your funds. Some support full ACH access, while others limit incoming or outgoing transactions.

🔄 How Often You Can Use ACH

There are no specific limits on how often you can send ACH payments — most banks process them daily.
Some fintechs may slow down or block repeated debits for security reasons, but ACH credits (incoming deposits) can usually post any day.

  • Same-day ACH: Usually processes before 4:30 PM ET if submitted early.
  • Next-day ACH: Standard timing for most banks — posts within one business day.
  • Frequency: You can ACH funds daily; reliability depends on the fintech’s bank partner.

âś… Tips for Reliable Transfers

  • Use your fintech account’s routing and account number — not the card number.
  • ACH transfers work best for Chime, Varo, Current, and SoFi accounts.
  • Cash App and Green Dot accounts may block incoming ACH debits — use them mainly for deposits.

If an ACH fails or is delayed, it’s often due to the fintech’s issuing bank rather than the payment processor.  You can always use a traditional bank account for guaranteed ACH success.
